Taipei, February , 2015—Square Enix (“SQEX”) today announced its global development partnership with Taiwanese developers XPEC Entertainment (“XPEC”) and XPEC Art Center Inc. (“XAC”) to deliver its latest title, Final Fantasy XV, in its Final Fantasy Type-0 event at the PlayStation booth at Taipei Game Show 2015.“With such huge amount of content production involved, Square Enix has many strategic development partners worldwide for this title. XPEC Entertainment is our partner in Taiwan.” said Hajame Tabata, Senior Director of Final Fantasy XV.
“We are incredibly honored and excited to partner with Square Enix and participate in the co-development of this timeless title, Final Fantasy XV. We deeply thank Square Enix for offering this unique opportunity to our Taiwanese team.” said Aaron Hsu, CEO of XPEC Entertainment. XPEC Game Development Division Director, Tony Wang, also expressed that “Both teams at XPEC and XAC are thrilled to participate in this project. Knowing Square Enix’s pursuit for the highest quality possible, our team members are confident and passionate to make an all-out effort to help bringing the franchise to a whole new level, and to present everyone the most compelling gaming experience in the coming future.”
XPEC is in charge of the latter half of the game design. Therefore, the content must be kept confidential for the time being. Yet, XPEC’s “Cat Cam” proposal video clip, which showcased level exploration using a cat’s perspective, is specially exposed here for this very occasion. With a perspective of cats, the player in the video was able to reach and observe places where regular characters normally can’t. Senior Director Hajame Tabata also said that he would seriously consider adding this unique feature into the game.
Each of XPEC and XAC has significant involvement in the making of the title in both game development and art production. More information shall be released soon.
